What Does it Cost? PDF Print E-mail

Best Practice Hospital accreditation does not mean that the Halifax Veterinary Centre is more expensive. The entry-level costs of a visit, vaccination and routine surgery are similar to or even cheaper than other South Island establishments. That is our policy. What happens next reflects the level of care you wish us to provide.

We really enjoy practising top level medicine, but are well aware that there may be budget or commitment limitations.

Do feel free to discuss these matters with us; we will do our best to accommodate your circumstances. Don't forget that your Petcare Rewards™ add up quickly and can make a significant reduction in costs.

What Does it Cost?

Costs vary depending on what procedures your pet is having and what size they are. Please phone or email us for an estimate.

Payment Options

Halifax Veterinary Centre does expect payment at the time services are rendered. Indeed, our whole pricing structure is geared to the vast majority of our clients doing so; it really does help to keep costs down.

We accept most major credit cards, Eftpos, cheques, and even cash! And remember: every time you "pay at the time," you earn Petcare Rewards™ - our way of thanking you.

Can I Get Credit?

It is to your benefit to pay your account at the time of service, so that you can collect your Petcare Rewards™ (a reward benefit); save these up and save on services!

If you really can't pay at the time, you must organize alternative arrangements prior to veterinary care going ahead. A credit agreement will need to be filled out. The interest charged is 36% p.a. (calculated daily and charged monthly). It is cheaper to use your credit card – you can also claim Pet Care Rewards™ with this payment option! Any costs incurred in checking credit or in collecting payment will be charged to you. We do not offer credit for vaccinations or routine de-sexing surgery.

As you can see, it is much easier and cheaper pay as you go, and you can collect your Petcare Rewards™.

Is There An Extra Charge Out Of hours?

Yes, depending on the time of night and your animal’s requirements. The extra cost depends on the time of the call, how long it takes, and whether a nurse needs to be called in.
